Who we are

WhosPet (whospet.co.uk) is operated by CODESEQ LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13893168), registered office 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE. By using WhosPet, you agree to these terms.

The service

WhosPet provides a pet tag with an NFC chip and a QR code, and an online profile for your pet. If someone taps or scans the tag (or a QR code on a printed lost-pet poster), they can send you a one-way email notification, optionally with a message and their location. WhosPet is a notification relay — it does not guarantee that a lost pet will be found, that a finder will scan the tag, or that any notification will be delivered. We recommend using WhosPet alongside, not instead of, microchipping.

You can optionally mark a pet as “lost” from your dashboard. Doing so displays whichever emergency contact details you've added directly to anyone who scans that tag, until you mark the pet found again. You can also choose to show those details on the public tag page without marking the pet lost. You're responsible for what you choose to share this way and for turning it off when you no longer want it shown.

Changes to the service

WhosPet is currently being tested with a small group of people we've invited. We keep improving WhosPet, so features may be added, changed or removed over time, and things may occasionally not work as expected. If you spot a problem, please tell us via the feedback page or at hello@whospet.co.uk.

Ordering and payment

WhosPet is invite-only for now. Tags are given free to people we invite; there's nothing to pay. We post tags within 2 working days by Royal Mail, or hand them over in person, whichever you choose.

Cancellations and refunds

Tags given by invitation are free. If you no longer want yours, just tell us at hello@whospet.co.uk. If you paid for an order before we switched to invite-only, the refund and cancellation rights you had when you ordered still apply.

Using your tag safely

A WhosPet tag is a small identification tag for a collar. It isn't a toy, and it is small enough to be swallowed. Attach it securely, check the tag, its ring and the collar regularly, and stop using it if it becomes cracked, chewed, loose or damaged. Remove it if your pet, or another animal, chews at it, and contact a vet straight away if you think any part has been swallowed. For cats, use a breakaway (quick-release) collar.

We aren't responsible for harm caused by using a tag in a way it isn't meant to be used, or by not following these instructions, except where the law doesn't allow us to limit our responsibility (see “Liability” below).

Your content

You're responsible for the pet name, photo, breed, and message you add to a tag's profile. It must be accurate and must not be offensive, unlawful, or infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend a tag that breaches this.

Acceptable use

Don't use the scan-notification system to harass, spam, or send abusive messages to a tag owner, and don't attempt to claim a tag that isn't rightfully yours. We may suspend access for accounts that misuse the service.

Liability

WhosPet is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for a pet not being found, for a notification email failing to arrive or being delayed, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms or the service from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
